Pleasant Pooping!

Quoting the Huntington Post: “Poo~Pourri Spray Promises To Take The Stink Out Of Public Pooping.” Am I the only one who has never heard of this before? I just saw this on YouTube and, at first, I thought it was a gag. But, then, I started to remember how I thought Monkey Butt was a gag, and it turned out to be real. So, I decided to give Poo-Pourri the same search attention, and what did I find? It, too, is a real product that, apparantly, really works! If you, like me, haven't seen this video before now, go watch it. It will 'crack' you up!

Wise Buys

Who says money doesn't grow on trees?  A few days ago we went to the Dollar Tree store.  For $27, we got the following:

Balloons on Broadway!!

On Broadway, in Poteau, Oklahoma. that is!  :)  It seems our sleepy little town has more to offer in the way of Things To Do than I thought.  Last weekend, Oct 18th & 19th, was the annual Balloon Fest.  We went out to take some pictures, and guess where we caught up with the balloons?  Where else?  On Broadway, of course.  Broadway is the main highway through town.  When my Mr. and I first moved here, we would ask where we could find the establishments we needed.  Invariably, the answer was "On Broadway".  So, we had to laugh at finding the balloons, where else?  "On Broadway"!  Anyhow, here are some shots we managed to get.

HAPPY FALL!

Here's a couple pix of my front porch, all 'decked' out for the Fall season.  Since I decorated, some of the neighbors have put out some decorations. also.  But, if there were a contest, I'd win, HANDS DOWN!  :)  I'm just sayin'...

World's Highest Hill

A while back (see this post) I wrote about one of our town's Tourist Attractions, Cavanal Hill.  Here are some pics of said Hill, also famous for being the highewst Hill in the world (just 6 inches shy of being a "mountain".

Sonic!

No, not a boom.  The Fast Food joint.  During the summer, Sonic has been selling 25 flavors of shakes for 1/2 price every night, after 8:00 p.m.  We have become quite the fans of (almost) all things 1/2 price.

Last night I was very bored and it was very hot (imagine that - it's hot in the summertime!), so I asked my Mr. if he wanted to go to Sonic for a shake!  He replied that he was up for the challenge, so off we went.  We are so adventurous!  He chose Vanilla and I chose Chocolate [a little walk on the wild side, don't ya think :) ]

Another Burger Night

Our "clan" is growing!  When we first began our Tuesday night ritual of getting together for 1/2 price burger night, we were three.  This week we were eleven!  People are starting to hear about the fun we have and are wanting to join us.  We are still a   "clan" of outsiders. but that's okay.  We enjoy being together and we share a kinship that none of the "insiders" can relate to or be a participant.

Queen For A Day

To celebrate my birthday, this past week some of the ladies in our church got together and treated me to a special 'Girls Day Out' and lunch.  And what a treat it was!  They made me 'Queen For A Day', complete with my own tiara to prove it!  We ate a wonderful lunch, shopped in the adjoining antique shop, then back to the dining room for dessert.  We all ate and laughed - A LOT!!!  Two of my favorite things to do.  I felt very special and very loved!  Thanks, ladies.  Here are pics of those who came:

Outsiders

There's a lot of quirky things about living in a small town in the country.  One thing that sort of 'chaps my hide' is that if you haven't lived here you whole life (and most have)  you are considered an 'outsider'.  Oh, the people are friendly, they just don't allow 'outsiders' to enter their inner circle of close friends.  I really don't believe this is a conscious thing on their parts, but it is, nevertheless, true.

Many members of my family have moved here, and we all feel like outsiders.  We have made some new friends who are in that same quandry - the, too, are 'outsiders'.(even though they have lived here more than 30 years.)

I said all of that to say this.  Every Tuesday night, the local burger joint here in town has 1/2 price burgers. So, we have begun our own 'clan' of outsiders andget together fo 1/2 price burgers.  Nothing fancy, just burgers, fries, and usually one of us makes a dessert.  We eat and laugh - ALOT!!!  I now look forward to Mondays because I know the next day is Tuesday.  I have to say, these are some of my very favorite people in the world, and I love having them around my table!

Gentlemen Use Wipes

Wow!  It's been a re-e- a-a-l-l-yyy long time since my last post.  Several times I set out to write posts, with pictures, and either the pictures would get deleted or something would go haywire with the computer.  Mostly, I think, I've just been lazy.  But, yesterday I was cruisin' the web when I came across something too funny to let it pass.  GENTLEMEN USE WIPES.
I was looking thru an article about Effective Couponing.  There was a link entitled "Free Toiletpaper Coupons".  As anyone can always use toiletpaper I clicked on the link.  Here's where I ended up:  Gentlemen Use Wipes.  One wipe charlies.  Experience the life-changing new way to solve the problem.  Live the one true clean.  Accept no substitute.
Buttwipes made for men.  40 durable 5" x 7", s&h included.  Flushable & biodegradeable.  Soothing, calming, & refreshing.  Gentle peppermint scent.  These captions followed, along with little MONOPOLY-style pictures to illustrate:
"SPEED & PRECISION:  Extract the bad guy quickly.  Get back to the base."  And, "CIVILIZED & DIGNIFIED:  You're a gentleman, be gentle."
This 'Find' belongs with the post I did sometime back on Monkey Butt.  Let me know your thoughts!  :)

IT'S ANOTHER SNOW DAY!

                                                                       view from my bedroom window

It's a SNOW DAY today.  YEAH!  I ca say that because we don't have to be out in the middle of it all. That's because my Mr. has a home-based business and he works from his home office.  I'm sure the people who have to get out and brave the roads aren't overjoyed, though.  We don't get very many snow days where I live, so each time it does snow, we find it beautiful and special - special enough for me to write about it on my blog!

On Its Last Leg

I've been neglecting my humble little blog lately, to the point it's on its last leg.  I created this blog to chronicle my life since moving here to Oklahoma.  So much happened over the past couple of months.  But, have I been posting?  Noooo!  Instead, my attitude has been "I won't think  about that today.  I'll think about it tomorrow!"  I have at least two more things to blog about.  Make that three.  But, alas, I am lazy and the worst kind of procrastinator.  Hopefully, my rigermortis  will end soon and I'll get back.  I even have pictures! So, TTNT, I amhas
